Gonzaga defeats Stanford, 96-78

Gonzaga handed the Cardinal its worst loss in nearly four years on Sunday, defeating Stanford 96-78. The Bulldogs were led by Brynna Maxwell, who scored a season-high 27 points, and Yvonne Ejim, who contributed 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Stanford’s top scorer, Cameron Brinker, was held to 10 points and did not play in the second half due to illness. The Cardinal trailed 52-39 and shot just 36 percent from the field.

Gonzaga shot 54 percent from the field and hit 10 3-pointers. The Bulldogs also had five players score in double figures.
